On October 27 the Grand Show Ring of Equiros will see the 1st Operational Regiment of Mounted Police of Moscow giving an exhibition performance named Russia Ahorse to feature the following:
- trick riding with acrobatics elements,
- dressage, and
- puissance.
Regular operations of 2 mounted and 1 dismounted squadrons, forming the 1st Operational Regiment, are security of events, patrolling in parks and prevention of offences. Almost four years ago the 3rd dismounted squadron was transformed into the Tourist Police, which can now be seen outside with the same name patches.
The mounted squadron has been actively expanding since 1997, now possessing 8 stationary bases in parkland. Currently 240 horses draw duty in the 1st Operational Regiment, and 80 at the central base.
