Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Centre played home to Russia’s biggest International equestrian exhibition Equiros 2014 from October 16th – 19th, 2014. The exhibition was organized by Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Centre and the Russian Equine Veterinary Association. The exhibition took place with the support of the All-Russian Research Institute of Horse Breeding (VNIIK) and with the official support of the Government of Moscow.
The exhibition was attended by over 230 companies, breeders and private owners from more than ten countries and regions of the world.
The four-day event gathered under one roof over 12 400 visitors.
The business and equestrian exhibition programmes were partnered with: Svechinskiy Equestrian Club; Rus, National Equestrian Park; Commonwealth Trotting Association of Russia, NP; Dressage Horses; Vsedlo.ru Equestrian Club; Verona Equestrian Sports Club; the Russian State Agrarian University – MTAA; the Federation for Equestrian Sports In The Western Disciplines and the EquiHelp Horse Protection Society.
The business programme of the exhibition featured such events as:
- Horse Diseases: Diagnostics, Prevention, Treatment, the 15th International Scientific and Practical Conference
- A demonstration seminar in judging young horses by Franck Jespers
- An International Judicial Seminar
- Management Problems in the Hippodrome Business and Equestrian Sport, Round table
- Pedigree Records in Horse Breeding of the Russian Federation, Seminar
- Hippotherapy: A Method of Child Rehabilitation, Seminar
- The Use of Herbal Medicinal Products in Prophylaxis and Multimodality Therapy of Locomotor Apparatus Diseases of Horses, Seminar
- Seminar on Triathlons. Competitions Calendar Planning. Younger and Older Horses' Training Peculiarities.
- Problems of Domestic Horse Breeding, Round table

The following events were held within the equestrian programme at the large and small riding halls:
- Daily Walk of the Equiros Exhibition Participants Horse Parade, Show-presentation
- Russian Legend Festival of the Orlov Trotter
- Master class in dressage, demonstration lesson in judging young horses hosted by Franck Jespers
- Master class in dressage by Alexandra Korelova
- Tournament show in show jumping and dressage with ponies
- A demonstration performance and the award ceremony for the Russian national team: the participants of the World Championship in para dressage
- Master class in Western-style riding and the Superhorse show competition
- Demonstration performances and a master class in show jumping
- Master class in Western-style riding
- Master class in the Russian team of horses
- Coursing: The Trust Route
- The Russian Saddle-horse Ring and Cart-horse Ring Shows and many other events.
The EQUIROS traditional equestrian fair had over 140 companies participating in it. They presented horse accoutrements, stern, veterinary preparations, equipment for equestrian infrastructure and equestrian sports. The EQUIROS exhibition offered visitors a wide range of horse products and a traditional sale. The event was attended by permanent participants including: PROKONI, Sports Technology, Kennig Ippika, Mizar, IE Dobrovolsky, Horsvet, Valtrap, Horse, Foliant, Fra Mil, Horse House, Neva Vet, Veda, White Mane, Capital Prok, IE Reva, Fra-mil, Arena Store, Gallop, Old Billy, IE Karpilovich, Capital prok, Amaranta, Maxi Horse, and IE Gordeeva. There were also some newcomers participating: Grand Prix (Nizhny Novgorod) and Fateh (Pakistan), Visteks, Rari Tek Service, Horse Shop (Belarus), IPPICA, and Horse Style.
The children’s programme was especially organized for the little ones. It featured:
- Coursing: The Trust Route, daily master-classes on ponies and miniature horses
- Master-class: let’s draw together with the horse
The EQUIROS exhibition venue had a specialized exposition set:
- The Exhibition of ponies and miniature horses
- Children’s sports and entertainment playground
- Master-classes area
During the four days of operation the exposition of EQUIROS saw huge success and great interest from all visitors of the exhibition!
The next EQUIROS will take place in Pavilion 4.1 of Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Centre from April 2nd – 5th, 2015. See you there!
