Equiros-Professional Exhibition and Conference as a mirror of the industry
Equiros-Professional, the 5th International exhibition and fair organized by Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Centre with the support of the All-Russian Research Institute of Horse Breeding and the Equine Veterinary Association, took place on April 3rd – 6th, 2014.
Equiros-Professional exhibition and fair drew over 56 participants: manufacturers and suppliers of horse accouterments, goods for equestrian sports, veterinary products and feed for horses. This year’s exposition was presented by the participants from Russia and the CIS countries, plus there was one participant from Germany. The exhibition area exceeded 3,200 square meters. Over 5,266 visitors from 10 regions all around Russia came to the show.
This year’s Equiros-Professional had Turkmenistan among the participants for the first time ever. The country was presented by a separate stand called Atlars of Turkmenistan (the Turkmen horses). At the stand, all the guests had a chance to learn about the habits and peculiarities of horse breeding in this country, examine unique national ornaments and accessories for horsemen, and of course, find out all about the unique and worldwide famous Akhal-Teke horse breed.
Business programme
There were several business events organized in two conference-halls within the framework of the business programme.
Actual Problems of Methodical and Legal Support of Public and Private Equestrian Schools for Children and Young People, the All-Russian Research and Practice Conference organized by the Russian Equestrian Federation with support of the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation has become the headliner of the event. During the conference: experts, sportsmen and members of equestrian associations discussed current problems in the field of equestrian sports and equestrian sports schools.
Special attention should be put on the Round tables:
Professional Equestrian Sport for Disabled People: Topical Issues, a round table organized by Olga Sochevanova, Coach of the Russian Paralympic Dressage, Member of the Russian Equestrian Federation.
Extended Conference of the Coordinating Council for the Sport Horse Breeding.

This year participants and visitors of the exhibition were offered to attend a seminar on Topical Issues of Equine Medicine, organized by the Equine Veterinary Association for the third time. Within the context of the seminar there were some reports delivered by:
Dr. Roland Perrin, Chief Vet at the Versailles Equine Clinique, France; Elena Guseva, Microbiologist of Vector-Center, LLC; K.V. Manuilov, Ph.D. in veterinary science, Associate Professor of the Surgery Department at Scryabin Moscow State Academy of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology, Vet of Bitsa Equestrian Sports Complex in Moscow.
Besides the events organized in terms of the business programme, there were presentations of new kinds of products and seminars offered at the participants' stands during the four days of the exhibition run.
The next Equiros is to be held in autumn from October 16th – 19th, 2014. The exhibition will be unveiled in Pavilions 4, 4.1, 4.2 of Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Centre, Moscow.
