The 12th International Horse Exhibition Equiros-2010 ended on August 22 in Sokolniki exhibition centre in Moscow, which brought together more than 183 exhibitors from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Germany, France, Italy and other European countries. The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Russian Equestrian Federation and the MVK Company are traditionally the organizers of the exhibition. A key event in the horse breeding industry, Equiros exhibition, brings together experts, equestrians, horse breeders, manufacturers of goods and services for horse breeding and equestrian sports.

The IP REGNUM News correspondent reports that about 150 horses competed for titles in their breed groups or participated in numerous theatrical shows: Cossack’s Bitter Honey and The Oriental Tale. The last show gathered the best representatives of the oldest horse breeds in the main arena, Arabian and Akhal-Teke, which revealed the strongest ones in the 7th National Championship and the second ones competed for the Shael Cup.

One of the key points of the exhibition was the unique Russian saddle horse breed presentation, which was prepared by the Russian State Agrarian University-Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy experts led by Vadim Parfenov, Associate Professor of MTAA horse breeding department.

The fellow breeders, manufacturers of equestrian accoutrements and transport from Europe show a great interest in Russia's biggest horse exhibition (despite the dangerous fire situation around the region, in the literal sense) for another year; this time the representatives of the association of French Equi'trade companies discovered the exhibition.

Tatiana Dorofeeva, master of sports, winner of international competitions in dressage and Mikhail Safronov, master of sports of an international class, 6-time all-round champion of Russia, winner of international tournaments, and the leader of show jumping in Russia held traditional master classes at Equiros. The Federation of Equestrian Sports workers in western disciplines presented a huge program to Muscovites and visitors. The AllRound competition and the Festival of Western games took place within two days.

A drawing horse has become a real show-stopper of the finished Equiros — a witty and brilliant parody on one of the central TV channels controversial film about the reading horse. The Workhorse Museum of Uglich (Yaroslavl region) organizers are its authors. In the eyes of the amazed public a four-legged artist was drawing strokes of gouache on a colored board – each of his “artworks” was immediately caught by someone in the audience.

“For twelve years, Equiros managed to surprise with many things, but there was no drawing horse in the exhibition history yet… A few months before the exhibition the unique foal – a pet of the museum — honed his skills of drawing to surprise thousands of visitors, and especially children, every day in the main arena… One of the main exhibition’s objectives — to teach children and also adults to love and appreciate nature, to protect animals,” the exhibition management explained to the IP REGNUM News correspondent.
