The 21st international equestrian exhibition “Equiros-2019” took place in Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Centre between November 28 and December 1, 2019. Over the course of four days, the event was attended by more than 15,000, including Andrey Lapshin, Director of Sokolniki Park, Leonid Kligerman, the First Deputy General Director of AO “Rosippodromy,” Nikolay Isakov, Chairman of the Russian Trotter Horse Breeding Association Board, Ekaterina Zabegina, the General Secretary of Equine Veterinary Association, Nikolay Rogozhkin, Russian military and public activist, who took part in the exhibition opening ceremony, and Petr Tolstoy, the Vice Speaker of the Russian State Duma, who also became the guest of honour at the 6th exhibition of Don and Budenny horses “Zoloto Stepey.”

The exhibition put on display all shapes and sizes of the equestrian world, with more than 20 horse breeds, riders, and dressage handlers demonstrating various equestrian sport disciplines from classic dressage and show-jumping, to yet not so locally popular western, driving, and tent pegging.

Stores and manufacturers of equestrian gear and riding apparel occupied the neighbouring exhibit hall, showcasing industry innovations and indulging with nice special offers and discounts.

The insightful agenda of the main ring accommodated breed ring dressage events with Vyatka, Budenny, Don, Vladimir, Orlov, and Karachai horses, Equiros show-jumping cup, a plenty of show performances, and educational workshops.

Small ring and farrier’s venue had to reserve a dedicated exhibit hall for the seminar and farrier schedule turned out to be extremely tight. It also featured a petting stable to let all visitors spend some time with horses.

This year the exhibition welcomed guests from all across the country. The Karabagh horses covered 2500 kilometres to be premiered in Moscow thanks to Azerbaijan Equestrian Federation, while guests from Karachai-Cherkessiya attended the event for the second time. Khasan Salpagarov organized a vibrant show of Karachai horses featuring the conquerors of the highest European peak of Elbrus, national ensembles, and a presentation of international passport for Karachai horses.

Business agenda included over 50 hours of talks, seminars, and round tables focusing on horses and various aspects of handling, from veterinary and stables fire-fighting through to equestrian travelling and using horses as part of search-and-rescue teams.

Every year Equiros brings together professionals truly committed to the equestrian domain, and hosts a grand four-day long festival of horses, which contributes to the development of equestrian sport, culture, and business in our country.
